News Angus won’t decide leadership run until early in the New Year SHARE ON: Rocco Frangione, contributor, Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, 2016 Photo credit: Supplied We’ll know early in the New Year if Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus plans to run as NDP leader. In a sign that the veteran MP is leaning in that direction, Angus resigned as caucus chair on Wednesday making it easier to mount a leadership bid. Angus could be the first New Democrat to announce his candidacy and the party could soon have two candidates. Last month, MP Peter Julian stepped down as NDP House Leader leading to speculation that he might seek the leadership. New Democrats have a leadership convention next October.
