News OPP: Be careful of high pressure sales tactics SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Thursday, Nov. 10th, 2016 Photo: Supplied Crime Prevention Week is continuing in Ontario, prompting a safety reminder from the Kirkland Lake OPP. The police is reminding the public to be wary of high-pressure sales tactics. The OPP says don’t invite anyone into your home for safety reasons, and if you do sign up for a product, make sure the agreement is in writing with details and contact information. The OPP also says some sales people are honest, but some are not, the chances are that whoever has contact with them could fall victim to a scam. They might be selling home improvements, merchandise, or cleaning services, according to the police. If you, or someone you know, fall victim to a scam, contact the Anti-Fraud Centre.
