Timmins city council is meeting this afternoon in a special meeting. Not many details are being released, except to say it’s to vote on a bylaw to enter into a “co-promotional agreement” with Word Travels Fast Consulting. Councillor Rick Dubeau says it’s an agreement between the city and a company hired to find music acts.
A second item was also added to the agenda this morning. It will be for council to vote on spending around $410,000 to buy all of the fireworks and materials for this summer’s eight day festival, which is part of the overall $3.5 million cost.
The special meeting is at 12:00pm at city hall, in the second floor council chambers.
