Anti-Hunger Coalition receives $15K to support Good Food Box program

The Anti-Hunger Coalition in Timmins is on the receiving end of a $15,000 cheque from the United Way. The money is going to go towards supporting ACT’s Good Food Box program. Executive Director of the United Way, Jean Warren, says their key focus is on supporting healthy people and strong communities.

The Good Food Box runs like a buying club, where residents can take advantage of wholesale prices. Each monthly box has fresh fruits and veggies, recipes, and storage information. Over a hundred boxes are ordered every month from ACT.

Executive Director of ACT, Michelle Goulet, says without the on-going support from the United Way the program would not exist.
