The Timmins Chamber of Commerce is raising some awareness to the challenges local businesses face. This is because we are in the middle of Small Business Week. The chamber says some of the issues are the cost of energy, workforce gaps, and infrastructure funding.
Chamber President Christine Bender says addressing the issues is crucial, as business with less than 100 employees make up 98 per cent of all Ontario businesses.
The chamber worked with the Ontario Chamber to release a report called Obstacles and Opportunities for Small Businesses in Ontario. The report outlined some potential solutions, like ensuring affordable energy use.
