A special weather statement is in effect for Timmins and area today. A fall storm is going to pass through the region tonight and tomorrow. It is expected to bring significant rainfall, according to Environment Canada. The city could be seeing up to 40 millimetres of rain by tomorrow. The storm might also bring heavy winds gusting up to 70 km/hour, as well as strong thunderstorms, and hail.

The special weather statement is also in effect for Cochrane and Iroquois Falls.
