Union leader concerned e-health records could become privatized

A union activist in the health field says the Wynne Liberals are at risk of making confidential medical records, public.  Michael Hurley says the Premier has asked the person who recommended the sale of Hydro One, to assess the value of Ontarians e-medical information.

Hurley, who leads the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions, says every time the Liberals pursue privatization it never ends well.  He believes asking for an assessment of our medical records is a stepping stone to privatizing the records.

The Ontario Healthcare Coalition opposes privatizing medical records for fear they become public and Hurley agrees with the coalition’s concerns.
