October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, and our local school board is raising awareness with a community workshop. The District School Board Ontario North East says the workshop will be looking at what qualifies as a learning disability, what isn’t, and why students learn differently.
Those who go to the workshop will be guided through exercises which will provide a better understanding on the challenges and impacts facing a student with a learning disbaility.  It’s happening on October 17th at 6:00pm, at Roland Michener Secondary. It will also be available through a videoconference in Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Kirkland Lake, and New Liskeard.
