If a new piece of Legislation passes at Queen’s Park, the mining industry will be seeing some changes. It’s called the Aggregate Resources and Mining Modernization Act. The goal is to boost Ontario’s competitiveness in the mining industry. It will allow claims to be made online, and improve how claims are registered. It will also help to make boundaries more precise.
The act also looks at other aspects of resource extraction, like balancing environmental protection with economic growth.
