NEOFACS hosting a Go Purple Walk in Timmins to raise awareness on child abuse

For Child Abuse Prevention Month, staff at the North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) were challenged to come up with a community event.

Volunteer Coordinator, Mireille Dubosq, says they decided on a Go Purple Walk. She says purple is the same colour as the child abuse awareness ribbon and invites anyone who attends the event to wear some.

Dubosq says everyone is welcome to attend and it’s a good way for students to get some volunteer hours.

The Go Purple Walk is taking place October 19th in  Timmins and on the 16th in Kapuskasing.

You don’t need to register in advance for the Go Purple Walk, but there is a Facebook page available for more information.
