The Canadian Mental Health Association is bringing a Photovoice exhibit to Timmins this week, helping to raise awareness for mental health issues. The exhibit will feature photographs taken by participants, which will depict their own experience in living with mental illness.
Photovoice brings action and photos together, and is used to give a voice to those who wouldn’t normally be heard. It will combine the pictures with descriptions to bring awareness to social issues, like mental health. The Canadian Mental Health Association calls it a powerful tool in many individual’s recovery.
The Photovoice exhibit is running at the CMHA office at 330 Second Avenue (at the Timmins Library). It runs from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
