News Local police want you safe outside SHARE ON: Melissa Candelaria, contributor, Monday, May. 5th, 2014 The warm temps and melting snow have got many of you wanting to get outside. The Timmins Police Service is asking you to remember some safety tips while you’re on your outdoor activities. This could be from biking to walking or jogging. Police ask that you stick to the sidewalks and wear reflective clothes, but if there isn’t a sidewalk in your area, always move against traffic. If you’re biking, be sure to slow down and check for oncoming traffic before going through an intersection. Drivers should also keep an extra eye out for pedestrians and cyclists. Yield to pedestrians crossing the street and look before opening your car door.
