Porcupine Health Unit receives BFI designation

The Porcupine Health Unit is a baby-friendly organization. The Breastfeeding Committee for Canada awarded the health unit the BFI designation for their work in the Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI).

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Rosemarie Ramsingh says this designation is important because it benefits, women, children, families and communities. The BFI makes sure parents are able to make informed decisions around how they choose to feed their babies. The health unit has been working towards getting this designation for the past 10 years.
