News Correction: Welcoming our Traditions Pow Wow SHARE ON: Melissa Candelaria, contributor, Friday, May. 2nd, 2014 The Welcoming our Traditions Pow Wow is happening next Friday, not today as previously stated. Timmins High and Vocational School is hosting the event, which starts at 10am. There will be dancers, drummers and craft vendors. The Pow Wow Committee says it’s important to have a Pow Wow at the school, because it gives students a first-hand look at what a Pow Wow is. The committee also says sharing the Aboriginal culture is important because it can open doors, minds, and new experiences for students and the community. Closing ceremony happens at 3pm.
