Ontario Coalition of Indigenous People hosting an information session this weekend

The Ontario Coalition of Indigenous People is bringing the Nuclear Waste Management Organization into Timmins this weekend. The presentation is happening at the Timmins Native Friendship Centre, and will give an update on Canada’s plan for the safe return of used nuclear fuel.

There will also be a presentation from the OCIP on the recent Supreme Court decision that Metis and non-status Indians are all classified as Indians in the Constitution. The OCIP says the Daniels’ case is an important new development in the history of Canada’s relationship with Indigenous people, and the impacts will be profound.

It’s all happening at the Timmins Native Friendship Centre on Saturday, from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
