Timmins Police send out a safety reminder ahead of the fall season

The Timmins Police is reminding hunters to be safe as the fall season is on the horizon. TPS says all firearms need to be examined before you head out into the bush. That includes checking for defects that may have occurred in storage. If your gun has a safety on it, that should also be checked to ensure its in working order.

TPS also reminds hunters that all guns and ammo have to be stored in a locked container when not being used.

The police also recommends not storing guns in the car at any point. Any unused or old firearms or ammo can be dropped off at the police station as they will ensure it is safely dealt with.
