The Timmins Police is reminding truck drivers of the laws surrounding engine compression brake systems. TPS says they are getting complaints about the Jake brakes, which are prohibited by municipal by-law in certain areas of the city. This is so the noise levels are kept to a minimum. The police say the majority of truck drivers are respectful of the law, but there are a few who aren’t.
TPS says it will be targeting its enforcement to ensure the law is being followed.
