News Start preparing for potential flooding in Timmins SHARE ON: Melissa Candelaria, contributor, Thursday, May. 1st, 2014 The Upper Mattagami Water Management Committee says we might get some flooding. The cold weather through April has caused deeper snow with more water than normally expected this time of year. Despite it being too early to predict flooding, the committee is asking residents to prepare just in case. Remove unsecure items from the shore to higher ground and practice your household emergency escape plan. The weather in the next week is expected to be below normal. Warm days and cool nights are favourable conditions to prevent flooding. The committee will continue to monitor conditions.
