Black pushing the public to support local events and festivals

Timmins Mayor Steve Black is throwing his support behind all of the different festivals and events happening throughout the city this summer. He says it’s good news for Timmins to have the different events, which range from city run events like Canada Day and Kayak Fest, to group sponsored events like Rock on the River and Bacon Fest.

Black says he hopes the festivals continue to grow in the years to come, and residents continue to show their support. He says the only way events will be sustainable is if the public comes out to support them and help to make a go of it. He says if they break even, or make a little money, it will help to bring the festivals back for another year.

Black says he looks forward to the events still to come this summer, and hopes they continue to grow in the coming years.
