Uncategorized Northern’s mining students get jobs SHARE ON: Rocco Frangione, contributor, Monday, Apr. 21st, 2014 It’s a testament to Northern College’s hard rock miner program. For the second year in a row Richmont Mines has hired all ten graduates of the school’s mining program. Northern provides the 12-week program in Dubreuiville where Richmont has its Island Gold Mine. Students get in-class instruction for two weeks then the remaining 10 weeks are spent at the mine site. Students are taught health and safety as well what tools and techniques they need on the jobsite.
