Concerns over door-to-door sales continue, after warning was issued by the Timmins Police

Timmins city staff is continuing to receive calls about door-to-door sales people, even after the Timmins Police issued a public safety notice. The city says anyone coming to your door to sell something has no affiliation with the city, and the only ID with the city’s logo will be on the business license. In order to get a business license, the company has to prove business legitimacy, and get background checks for sales people.

The city is also responding to concerns about door-to-door sales people coming to test tap water, saying there is an issue with the municipal supply. Public Utilities does routine water quality testing, which goes through both the Health Unit and the Ministry of Environment.
