No charges laid in last week’s pedestrian crash on Algonquin

More information on a pedestrian crash on Algonquin is being released. The Timmins Police say it happened when the man stepped off the curb and was hit by a piece of equipment on the tractor trailer. The truck had an excavator on it as an oversized load. The 36-year-old man was hit by the track portion of that excavator.

Police say the driver of the truck was within speed limits and had all of the proper permits to be carrying the load. No charges are being laid, however TPS does say they are still investigating.

The injured pedestrian is still in a Sudbury hospital receiving treatment for what are being called serious injuries.
