Recent drunk driving charges are sparking a safety reminder from the Timmins Police Service. TPS says stopping impaired driving is a priority, but notes that drivers must be safe and responsible.
This comes after a 66-year-old Timmins man was pulled over on Friday night for erratic driving. Police allege he was showing obvious signs of impairment, and laid two impaired driving charges. He has a court date set for next month.
The police say monitoring traffic is a core function of reliable policing. However, they also say the burden of sober and responsible operation of a car falls to the driver.
