News Drivers can expect delays as the asphalt grinding and paving program begins SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Jun. 14th, 2016 Photo: Supplied by Steve Bain. Public Works in Timmins is going to start the 2016 asphalt grinding and paving program this week. No exact locations are being pinpointed right now, however the city does say various streets will be getting a facelift. That means there will be intermittent road and lane closures. Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious in construction zones. This comes as Algonquin is still closed in front of Western Auto Sales, and is down to one lane at Shirley Street. The repaving starts on Thursday and is expected to run until the end of the month.
