The group that represents Ontario First Nations is condemning the Wynne Liberals’ climate change legislation. The Nishnawbe Aski Nation says that legislation is a misleading and misguided approach to a green economy. And the group’s regional chief, Isadore Day agrees. Day says climate change affects many First Nations and the legislation should have had First Nation input before being approved.

Day says it’s a new age and the provincial government needs to treat First Nations as equal partners on issues like climate change. Day says as a result of not getting an Aboriginal point of view, climate change legislation will have negative effects for First Nations.
