A stream of backlash has followed the announcement that the government is selling Ontera but keeping the rest of the ONTC in public hands.
PC Councillor Steve Black is frustrated with the liberal government for easing up on some issues as an election could soon be on the horizon.
Black says this communication infrastructure cost taxpayers $20 million dollars to build and now he’s wondering what return they’ll get on it. He says by selling Ontera the government has given away the most critical network of telecommunications infrastructure in the area.
Black says the government is like a ship caught in a whirl pool, not even the captain knows where it’s going next.
