Council will have to make some decisions about donation requests tonight

Timmins city council is going to hear two donation requests for a couple of the city’s biggest events. The multicultural society and the fall fair will be at the table looking for some funding. This will be the first time council has gotten any requests for donations after the fund was essentially used up. They will now have to decide whether to say no to the requests, or dip into the reserve fund.

Also on tonight’s agenda are the annual water filtration plant report, and a vote to support Bluewater’s resolution for the province to reinstate incentives for doctors to practice in rural areas. The meeting kicks off at 6:00pm tonight at city hall, in the second floor council chambers.
