After this past Easter long weekend, which saw freezing rain, high winds and flooding move through northern Ontario, Hydro One is improving its notification system. The energy company says this past Easter long weekend sparked the change it needed.

Hydro One says its call centres had an extremely high volume of calls and is looking to improve the way information is delivered to its customers. Customers can now register for outage alerts posted via email and text by signing up through its website.

This way, based on your area, when restoration operations are in effect you’ll be updated with ETA’s and other information on the work.
