The city is partnering with Canadian Blood Services for this week’s donor clinic

The Canadian Blood Services is back in Timmins today, hosting a donor clinic that has been adopted by the City of Timmins. That means city staff, including mayor and council, are throwing their support behind the clinic and encouraging everyone to donate.

Territory Manager for Canadian Blood Services, Joanne Drake, says they have been struggling with donor numbers in Timmins, and are hoping everyone will get out this week. She says every minute of every day, someone needs a blood donation that could save their life. It can take 50 blood donations to help a car crash victim, five donors a week for someone in cancer treatment, and eight donors a week for someone who has Leukaemia.

The clinic is running today from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, and then again tomorrow from 12:30pm to 6:30pm. Book an appointment online, by calling 1-888-2-DONATE, or by just walking in. The clinic is at the St. Dominique Church Hall.
