An assault at the Monteith jail is being investigated by the Iroquois Falls OPP. It happened on Wednesday last week, when an inmate was found in his cell badly injured. The 35-year-old was taken to the hospital where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.
Six inmates are now being charged in connection to the assault. They range in ages from 24 to 58, and are being held in custody until a court date on Friday.
