Hunters are being asked to take extra precaution as the spring bear hunt and tree planting operations are beginning around the same time. Tembec will be out planting north of Timmins, and will have no-hunting zones marked off at tree plant blocks and at team camps. There may be more traffic than normal on rural roads as crews and supplies head out to start planting.
The no-hunting zones will be in effect until June 15th, and the MNRF’s office will have a map of the cordoned off areas.
