Angus isn’t ruling out running for the NDP leadership

Charlie Angus, the federal New Democrat for Timmins-James Bay, says he hasn’t given a run at the NDP leadership serious thought. But Angus also says he’s keeping all options open and isn’t ruling out running for the party’s leadership.

The job became available as of Sunday when NDP delegates voted Thomas Mulcair out as leader in a 52 to 48 per cent vote. The party will name a replacement in two years. Angus says for now he’ll keep representing his riding and take the future as it comes. Angus is 53 and has served Timmins-James Bay since 2004.
