New Invasive Species Act will help the MNR deal with things like Hogweed

The new Invasive Species Act comes into effect this year, which will help the MNR deal with threats more effectively. The Ministry of Natural Resources says the new act will help it deal with threats to eco systems quickly come November.

The act gives the MNR more teeth when dealing with wild and plant life which threatens eco systems. It means for, example if Hogweed is found in a community the MNR and other organizations can act on it immediately to have it removed.
