Poetry contest

Submissions are being accepted for the oldest non-governmental national poetry contest in Canada.

Spring Pulse Poetry Festival in Northern Ontario, Northern Ontario’s largest arts festival, is sponsoring the William Henry Drummond Poetry contest.

He is Canada’s most popular 19th century poet.

The submission deadline is April 11th.

It costs just $10 to enter and there is $1200 in prizes: $300 first place, $200 second place, $100 third place, 8 honourable mentions of $50, and 8 judge’s choice of $25.

There will be an award ceremony at Cobalt Public Library on Friday May 30 during the festival.
