Distracted driving the number one factor in road deaths in Ontario

According to the South Porcupine OPP, distracted driving is now the number one factor in road deaths in Ontario. That information comes as northern detachments are targeting those on their cell phones and other devices while driving this week. Police say the number of deaths involving distracted driving sits at 69 last year, followed closely by speed at 61. The OPP says it’s doing its best to make sure drivers are aware of the risks involved in texting and driving.
