Police and Public Works looking into safety concerns at Mountjoy and Vimy

Pedestrian and driver safety concerns at Mountjoy and Vimy are coming up at city council. The intersection by Chez Nous is being called a dangerous one, as there is a blind corner with fairly high speed of traffic. Councillor Pat Bamford says they are going to have to look at the intersection, as it’s very difficult to turn left off of Vimy on to Mountjoy.

The original complaint was brought forward by Jean-Yves Vezeau, who works as a cab driver. He is asking for a 3-way stop sign at the intersection. However both the Timmins Police and Public Works are going to look at the feasibility of that, as well as other options, and bring them back to council.
