Canada Day moving to Hollinger Park

City council is changing the location of Canada Day celebrations this summer. They were originally going to be held at Gillies Lake, however have now been moved to the Hollinger Park area. It will be held at the Fred Salvador Park between the ball diamond and Water Tower Road, which will be closed during the celebrations.

Tourism Timmins Manager Guy Lamarche says because Rotary’s Park Fest is the weekend before at Hollinger, they wouldn’t have time to tear down and set back up at the beach. Goldcorp has given the green light to launch the fireworks from the Hollinger Pit berm.
