Vets Taxi offering free rides to those in need

Vets Taxi is starting to offer free rides to the homeless and others in need in Timmnis. Owner Rick Lafleur is calling it the Nobody Gets Left Out in the Cold program. He says they wanted to ensure people who may be struggling have access to transportation to get to community support like shelters, food banks, and church services.

The new program is also providing free rides to families who use the Timmins Food Bank on Wednesday mornings who need a ride home with their groceries. It will also give rides to Schumacher seniors who go to Mass at St. Anthony’s on Sunday mornings who have no other way to get there.

Nobody Gets Left Out in the Cold is in partnership with St. Anthony’s, the Good Samaritan Inn, and the Timmins Food Bank.
