Tourism Timmins wants to keep the cities rich mining history alive.
Last year the city sold the Gold Mine Tour and the Shania Twain Centre back to Goldcorp for more mining.
Now, after relocating the Hollinger House there are still several statues looking for a home.
Timmins Police Service and Golden Manor are both possibilities.
Tourism Manager Guy Lamarche says he those two locations are highly active making it less of a target for vandalism.
Phase 1 of the project including refurbishing statues and relocating the Hollinger house for example cost nearly a quarter of a million dollars. There is $20,000 remaining to finish Phase 2, which involves finding locations for the statues.
Lamarche is also going to recommend a proper maintenance schedule to prolong the statues lives and protect the investment.
Lamarche says this is an important project to recognize Timmins mining heritage and bring it to life.
