The OPP is taking the opportunity to raise awareness against drunk driving after an arrest in Kirkland Lake. Police say last week they responded to a car in the ditch on Highway 11 to not only find the vehicle was stolen but the driver well over the acceptable blood-alcohol level. A 32-year-old Kirkland Lake man has been charged with impaired driving and theft.
The OPP runs many R.I.D.E. programs along the Highway 11 corridor and is reminding drivers there is so safe amount of alcohol to drink before driving.
