News Local businesses are getting a boost in Toronto this week SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Mar. 8th, 2016 Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is helping northern businesses get a boost at this week’s Prospectors and Developers Convention in Toronto. Angus says the showcase features manufacturing, exploration, and First Nations opportunities across the north. He says it shows the importance of having a properly funded agency like FedNor. He says that way you can take all of the businesses in the north, and showcase them to buyers all around the world. Angus says that includes more than just the big players. He says mom and pop type of businesses, which are slowly growing, get a chance to showcase to international buyers. He says the north is front and centre at the convention, and he is really pleased with the work of FedNor. He says the agency is showcasing manufacturing, business planning, and mining expertise from our community. Angus says it’s top notch and says there is a real buzz at the convention. Angus says it’s not very often they are able to showcase opportunities to so many players from the international scene. Mayor Steve Black is also at PDAC, which runs until tomorrow.
