The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival is making another appearance on the top 100 festivals in Ontario. The list is complied by Festivals and Events Ontario, which recognizes some of the most well-known events across the province.
Tourism Timmins Manager, and co-chair of the Kayak Fest, Guy Lamarche, says he is honoured to accept the Top 100 award again this year. Minister of Tourism Michael Coteau says the government recognizes festivals and events as economic drivers. He says they are proud to support efforts to create jobs, grow the economy, and celebrate our diverse culture.
Other northern events that made the list include Kirkland Lake’s Homecoming in June, Winter Carnival in February, and Kapuskasing’s Lumberjack Festival in July.
