Kennedy has plans to tap into Ring of Fire potential

If developed properly, the Ring of Fire will be a long-term, revenue generating operation in the north. That’s what Green Party candidate Max Kennedy is saying about the stalled chromite project. He says if elected, he would work to get cooperation between all of the parties involved to get it going.

He says it’s not something we have to rush into it. Kennedy says if the project is developed wrong, it is going to die before it’s born.

He says another factor that needs to be considered is the environmental one. He says however the project is developed, it has to be in a way that protects the environment around the mining site. Kennedy also says he would look into the site after the project is over. He says he has seen many mining communities that are left scarred because there was no fund to return the landscape back to an environmentally productive setting.

Running against Kennedy is NDP candidate Charlie Angus, Conservative candidate John Curley, and Liberal candidate Todd Lever.
