Learn About the Perseids Meteor Shower with the Science Timmins Astronomy Club

August 5 @ 11:00 pm - August 6 @ 12:00 am EDT

Every summer, the Earth’s orbital path comes into contact with the debris trail of comet Swift-Tuttle. This creates the most abundant meteor shower event of the year, known as the Perseids Meteor Shower. Viewable in the direction of the constellation Persus, at its peak in mid-August, you may be able to see 50-100 meteors an hour.

Learn more about the Perseids Meteor Shower with the Science Timmins Astronomy Club in a Live Zoom presentation on Wedneday August 5, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. (Note the later start time.) Register by emailing libraryprograms@timmins.ca
