Frozen water crisis continues into Spring

Timmins will likely see an increase in water main breaks as the ground thaws according to Norm Bruce with Public Works.

The city has already seen over 100 water breaks since December and currently the city is dealing with 37 breaks.

If you have coloured water Bruce says leave the tap running and call pubic works.

With just one machine available to thaw the pipes he says it could take two to three days to get serviced.

He says this year’s frost depth is exceeding three meters in most part of the City which is a major contributor to the high amount of breaks this Winter.
