Angus continues work to make Palliative Care a right for all Canadians

The federal New Democrats are continuing to make strides on making palliative care a right for all Canadians. A detailed plan has been introduced at the final hearing of a committee on physician-assisted dying in Ottawa. This is building on the work done by Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus in the last parliament. Angus says this impacts every single family, especially in rural regions in northern Ontario. He says it’s the government’s responsibility to help families through these difficult transitions.

The plan includes a national awareness campaign on end of life care, and recommendations for more flexible and available Compassionate Care benefits.
