TPS reminding snowmobilers to always carry proper permits and licenses

The Timmins Police Service is warning snowmobilers about the rules of the trails. Officers were out last week checking sledders, stopping about 45 people in total. Several fines were handed out for things like not having proof of insurance, not having a trail permit, or a proper license. Officers also helped one snowmobiler who drove off of the groomed trail and got stuck. Police say if you’re on an OFSC trail, your trail pass has to be on the front of your sled, and you must carry all necessary documents.

Police are also reminding snowmobilers that they are not allowed on any city streets, unless it’s part of the OFSC trail system. For a map of local trails go to the OFSC website.
