Angus calling for the end of gas gouging in the north

The record low oil prices aren’t helping drivers in Timmins any, as the prices at the pumps are still high. Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus says this is why the NDP have been fighting for a gas ombudsman. He says the Competition Bureau isn’t willing to take on the high prices in the north, and the New Democrats want to see some fair prices.

He says the high prices are adding to the growing inequality in northern Ontario; we already have high food and hydro prices, and now we have artificially high prices at the pumps.  Angus is asking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to step up and support the north. He says even though the west is getting hit with the low oil prices, it doesn’t make anyone better off to gouge people by 10 or 20 cents a litre day after day.
