Northern sends a group of mining graduates into the workforce

Another set of graduates from Northern College’s Kirkland Lake campus are looking for mining related work. The students are from the school’s diamond driller assistant program. It’s a new program which was put together by industry partners to produce graduates who are better equipped to make it in the mining world.

One of those partners is Boart Longyear which helped Northern re-vamp the mining curriculum. The re-vamp includes a stint underground for the students in a real mine setting.
