The Timmins Fire Department is donating over $2,000 to the Timmins hospital this afternoon. The money comes from their annual pink t-shirt campaign. Fire Chief Mike Pintar says a big aspect of their campaign is to keep all the donated dollars within the community. He says it’s important to keep it local, where the campaign has more of an impact and you can see the personal affects on the community. The money is going into the hospital’s new Breast Wellness Centre. The Fire Department raised $2,168 in total, more than doubling their initial goal of $1,000.
